Sprint to offer WiMAX version of Nokia Internet Tablet

Sprint to offer WiMAX version of Nokia Internet Tablet

US telecoms provider Sprint will offer a Mobile WiMAX-enabled version of Nokia's N800 Internet Tablet to its customers next year.

Sprint had previously announced plans to roll out a nationwide WiMAX network, starting in several major cities, and said at the time that hardware deals would follow.

The N800 was announced at CES 2007 in Las Vegas as the successor to the N770.

Nokia has announced that it will release three WiMAX enabled handsets in the first quarter of 2008.

This will put the Finnish manufacturer in competition with Motorola who have also committed to supporting the technology in some of their handsets in 2008.
