WMX Systems, LLC, Denver's sole WiMAX broadband service provider, today announced that the company's request for a nation wide license to provide WiMAX wireless internet services in the 3.65 GHz band has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The newly awarded FCC license enables WMX Systems, LLC to offer high bandwidth, high quality business Internet and telephone services thus differentiating WMX Systems, LLC from other wireless providers (including cellular). Advantages of WiMAX services include:
- "instant on" installation for T1 type service (48 hours contract to install)
- secure communications in the event of a disaster or network outage (WiMAX is independent of the telephone network)
- lower rates than other service providers for comparable services
WMX Systems, LLC WiMAX services will provide broadband Internet and telephone for those preparing for and attending the Democratic National Convention. The WMX network will provide an alternative to stressed networks burdened with the additional call load. The WMX network will also provide Denver businesses with much needed security including wireless route diversity, disaster recovery, wireless security cameras and business continuity during the August 25-28 convention.
