semiconductor solutions, is collaborating with Rohde & Schwarz, a global leader in radio test and measurement, to pre-validate Rohde & Schwarz' TS8970 radio conformance test system (RCTT) that will be used by the WiMAX ForumSEQUANS Communications, a leading supplier and developer of fixed and mobile WiMAX for Mobile WiMAX Wave 1 and Wave 2 certification testing.
A live demonstration featuring Sequans Mobile WiMAX chip reference designs in combination with Rohde & Schwarz' RCTT will be presented at its company headquarters in Munich where it is hosting the WiMAX Forum technical and certification working group face-to face meeting, August 21st thru 24th.
"Rohde & Schwarz' expertise and long years of experience in radio conformance testing ensure that Mobile WiMAX products based on our chips meet the most stringent demands for quality," said Bernard Aboussouan, VP of marketing and business development, Sequans. "Our technical collaboration, whereby we have tuned our respective technologies to inter-work efficiently, saves our customers much time and expense."
"Sequans mobile WiMAX chips are in demand by many leading WiMAX equipment vendors who now have access to a state-of-the-art radio test solution that is proven to work well with products based on Sequans chips," said Hubert Meichelböck, Director of Subdivision Systems and Projects, Rohde & Schwarz.
Sequans chips (SQN1110 for Wave 1 and SQN1130 for Wave 2) for WiMAX mobile stations feature the industry's highest throughput and lowest power consumption. Sequans' Wave 2 MIMO chip delivers more than 30 Mbps throughput while drawing less than 280 mW of power in active mode and less than 10 mW in idle mode.
The TS8970 is currently undergoing validation testing at the WiMAX Forum validation testing facility.
